Dry Skin Itch Caused by Eczema

Image : http://www.flickr.com

What is Eczema?

Eczema is a skin condition that caused our skin to become inflamed, resulting in rashes and severe itching. In fact, instead of the rash causing the itching, eczema is referred to as the itch that causes the rash. What starts out as extremely dry skin can quickly develop into a rash.

Children are often victims of eczema although they often outgrow the condition whereas adults with eczema tend to have it most of their life. Unfortunately, there is no cure for eczema. Eczema is a combination of dry skin and allergies. It may result in dry skin, dry patches and occasional flare-ups where the skin becomes red with patches that seem to be almost oozing.

Although many people become embarrassed by their dry itchy skin, there is no reason to feel ashamed. It's not contagious and it's not something that you can prevent. You can, however, prevent repeated flare-ups or keep them to a minimum.

Ways to Prevent Dry Skin

Although you may not be able to totally eliminate the dry skin itching caused by eczema, there are steps you can take to reduce your chances of having dry skin. There are many things in life that we can't avoid but by eliminating the things you can, you'll be doing a lot towards reducing the dry skin itching.

Use plenty of moisturizer and this can't be overemphasized. Use a moisturizing lotion daily - several times a day, in fact.

Avoid using hot water when bathing or showering because hot water dries out your skin. Luke warm water will do just as well.

Do not rub your skin dry after a bath or shower. Pat your skin gently instead.

Avoid using plain soap. Use soap with moisturize in it and one without perfume.

Try to use cotton as much as possible for clothing as well as bedding. Avoid synthetic or wool fabrics, which tend to irritate the skin more.

Avoid using scented lotions or bubble bath.

Use a mild detergent without dye or harsh chemicals. Remember your clothing spends many hours a day rubbing against your skin.

Watch for foods that may be causing allergies and avoid them. Allergies play an important part in not only causing eczema but also in triggering itching attacks.

Avoid allergens like mold, dust, pet dander as these also can trigger attacks.

Forehead Lines - Choosing the Right Product

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Wrinkles, the very first sign of aging, can be great cause for worry. With the world becoming more looks oriented; you cannot hide them under the makeup for a very long time. Don't let forehead lines become your worry lines. Aging is not something that is going to stop; however, the good news is you can take some steps to make sure that forehead lines don't show on your face.

When we are young, our skin is smooth and free from any blemishes. As age catches up, our skin develops dark spots, scars and wrinkles. You can easily reduce or slow down the appearance of these signs of aging by having a balanced diet coupled with good skin care products.

With our routine becoming hectic by the day most of us do not get enough time to take care of our skin. But neglecting your skin can actually make you look older than you are. In this regard a good skin care product comes in very handy. A good product can actually hold back forehead lines for years to come. It's best to invest some amount of money in getting a good product rather than compromising on your appearance.

The first thing to look for in a skin care product is whether it is meant for your skin. This can be checked on the pack where it is usually mentioned as for oily, dry or normal skin. You must obviously know your skin type before you use any of these products. It's best to consult your beautician or dermatologist to know your skin type.

The next thing you must check is the ingredients mentioned. For instance, anti-aging products may have different contents compared to products for reducing acne. Similarly, not all anti-aging products are meant for the same purpose. A product for reducing wrinkles such as forehead lines would be different than those for reducing age spots. Therefore, you must carefully check these before you spend all that money on a product.

In case you don't get much time to make different facial packs at home, using products for skin care is a much better option. Taking these steps would definitely help you find the right product for a younger looking skin.

Celebrity Skin Care Products

If celebrities know one thing, it is how to stay beautiful. Just imagine the pressure they must be under to always look their best. In the case of the A-list actors and actresses, they can barely leave their homes without being photographed. Those photos end up on the covers of every magazine in every supermarket checkout in America. Poor Britney...

In recent times, a number of celebrities have launched their own skin care and cosmetic lines. It makes a lot of sense, if you think about it. Why not capitalize on the fame they have established in their respective careers? Smart celebrities have taken the endorsement scenario to another level entirely. Instead of endorsing existing products, many of them have simply launched their own lines.

Cindy Crawford is one such example. After a highly successful modeling career, Cindy dropped out of the modeling scene to settle down and start a family. A few years later, Cindy decided to capitalize on her name by launching a line of specialized skin care formulas. She partnered with the famous French cosmetic surgeon, Jean-Louis Sebagh, to create Meaningful Beauty. They offer a wide range of skin care products designed to reduce free radicals and stimulate the growth of collagen, both of which are necessary to fight the effects of aging. Well done, Cindy!

Fresh-faced freshmen, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, are everywhere these days. These girls have been in the entertainment industry since they were just a few months old, and they have build up a veritable cosmetic and fashion empire in recent years. These girls are highly influential with the "tween" crowd. They have a wonderfully fun line of cosmetics for young girls, that includes metallic mascara and sparkle applications that are crayon-like in their appearance. Smart kids, indeed!

Jessica Simpson has also started her own line of skin care products. After her recent television and movie endeavors, there is no doubt that she should be exploring her career options. Her line of skin care products is called Dessert Beauty, and is produced in conjunction with a fellow named Randi Shinder. This line is more focused on lotions and lip balms with scents like strawberry and vanilla bean. It's good to see that Jessica has plan B in effect!
